This Golf Course is nestled in Shadwell, 20 mins away from Leeds City Centre.
Although listed as an 18 hole golf course they only have 14 holes so you will play the first few holes again to complete the full 18. Don’t let that put you off, as the holes get more challenging through the round. Holes #1 & #2 start relatively straight and simple but the challenge gets higher from 3 onwards leading up to the very difficult hole #14, with a blind drive back at the clubhouse.
Plenty of charm and golf challenges
Although the facilities are quite basic this golf course offers enough for you to keep coming back time after time. This course has everything in terms of excitement, challenges and lastability, from a number of well placed water hazards, blind drives, dog legs, various contours and picturesque vistas.
A hole to remember
Hole #7, is a 379 yard par 4 dog leg right with stroke index of 2.
You start from an elevated tee position with the hole in sight to the right of the trees. If you can strike a drive pure and a considerable distance, you can try and take the corner on but there is a water hazard on the right corner and another water hazard to the left of the green.
A sensible shot is play it straight down the fairway to give you a cleaner shot to attack the green head on. As mentioned there is a hidden and quite large water hazard to the left.
The green is probably one of the most attractive greens in the surrounding area as it’s protected by a crown of mature sycamore trees and also a bunker to the right.
learned to play golf here back in the day, still call back a couple of times a year to practice before i play the... bigger courses. its harder than you think due to narrow fairways, i always play the first 4 holes again at the end to get 18 holes in. staff very friendly.read more
Great golf course for beginners - intermediate. 14-18 holes. Challenging enough for a good game without being too... tiring. Great local pub round the corner too to finish off the round.read more
Haven't played this course for around 10yrs. I'd forgotten how challenging it was. Really enjoyed it and hopefully we... will be returning and doing better.read more
NIce 9 hole course which is always well maintained. Some challenging holes which are adapted often. Great place to work... on your golf skills.read more
Staff are friendly and laid back. On the downside, the course is soft and boggy and this was 2 weeks after the last... rain. 18 holes reduced to 14 and greens are slow and spongy. I mean SLOW, don't be afraid to give it a whack. This place is owned by the same people who own The Village golf course further up the road. Don't bother with this as that course is much better. I'd suggest getting rid of this one and focusing on making one great.read more
I am a regular visitor to this course. The course has now been reduced to 14 holes since reopening after lockdown with... no change to the green fees, which reduces value and appeal. Greens are variable in quality and bunkers lack sand. Layout is reasonably interesting and not too challenging. Not a great option in winter as it is prone to waterlogging.read more
