A Golf Course set amidst the Stunning Leeds rural landscape.

A Pay & Play, no booking required course (which is twinned with Brandon golf course approx 4 miles away) feels like you are in the middle of nowhere but it’s only 25 mins from Leeds city centre. The course design is excellent for a 9 hole course, they have expertly contoured each hole to fit perfectly with its surroundings.

We especially want to commend their ground staff for the quality of some of the greens and fairways which were so much fun and offered serious challenges and contours.

Fun, fun and more golf fun

This golf course comes alive from the 1st hole and keeps on delivering challenge after challenge. What’s even more exciting about this 9 holer is that they even throw in an option 3 additional holes for golfers wanting an additional extra challenge. These additional 3 holes are all Par 3’s and are set just to the left hand side of hole #7 and are all based either around or over water.

A hole to remember

Hole #6 is a dog left left 187 yard par 4, with s stroke index of 7. You tee off from a high vantage point but the hole is well tucked away on the left hand side of the course.  You have 2 choices to either hit it straight over the gully and just before the silver birch trees or go big and attempt to hit one onto the green.

The Village Golf Course

There is plenty to aim for on the green, the wiser choice is to go straight (especially if this is your first time on the course) as the top part of the green is elevated.

The Village Golf Course

You can see from the picture below that there is high risk for trying to go for the green as the slope to the left of the green is treacherous but the tales back home in the car would be legendary if you made it. As you can also see that this is a 2 tier green so be careful not to roll off when putting.

Great 9 hole 🕳 👌Still a great 9 hole, how ever, was not impressed by dog muck on the course and 4... teenager girls walking across the course and teenager boys cutting across from the club house to the 5th hole.read more

What an absolute gem of a golf course- a pleasure to play.We arranged to play a 4 ball for our friends 30th birthday.... Unfortunately one of our friends has broken his leg, so we were hoping to get a buggy to ensure that he didn’t miss out on the afternoon. When we arrived all buggies were booked. The staff and owners were absolutely superb, and allowed our friend to drive round in their personal buggy which they delivered to us after hearing about the situation. A brilliant family feel and lovely cakes in the club house- massively recommend the lemon drizzle. On to the golf. I honestly don’t believe I have played a course that is better value for money. Very well kept and extremely tidy. The views across Yorkshire are extremely pretty. The 3 bonus holes are great fun and very challenging. A short par 3 with a tiny green and then 2 long par 3s, all requiring an excellent tee shot to navigate them. We were lucky to be playing a scramble as we certainly lost a few balls in the lake!!I see a few reviews on here mentioning the quality of the greens- absolutely ridiculous. They are more than playable. A few were a little spongy but what do you expect on a golf course in Yorkshire after a week of rain? Adds to the challenge!Anytime I am visiting Leeds this will be a go to for me. Thanks again to the wonderful staff.read more

This is a great little course. As a person who needs practice, this is a really good place to start. Friendly and... affordable. The fairways and greens are well looked after, and no problem with slow play. I will be back.read more

A quirky little course with plenty of challenge, including MacKenzie greens. Pay and play 9 or 11 holes with the option... of doing it all again to make it up to 18. One of our favourites.read more

AVOID - THIS IS NOT A GOLF COURSE!The worst Greens i have ever played on, and even worse service.I have been... playing golf for 5 years now, and i have been to Brandon and the Village courses dozens of times, but i wont be returning. The village is not by any means a quality course, its a nicely laid out pitch and putt, 212 yard Par 4's and 350 Yard Par 5's, but this isn't what lets it down. it could do so much better if the owners cared about anything other than your money in their back pocket! They don't accept card payments, cash in hand only - its 2020!The greens are full of holes, marks, moss and are so uneven you cannot putt on them, but even worse than this is the customer service.I have mentioned my disappointment to the course previously, and was simply told.... "We were busy, and most people would disagree." (You cant disagree with the pictures!) and was then told that i could go play elsewhere. For the same price of £11, i could go and play 9 holes at Roundhay, which is much better condition even though council run, or for just a few quid more, i could play Leeds Golf Club (Cobble Hall) and play a quality 18 holes, with superb greens, friendly atmosphere, and great service.I'm not being snobby, but i dont know how people can enjoy the golf when the greens are so bad. Go Elsewhere.read more
