Discover the scenic beauty of Calverley Golf Club’s 18-hole course, spanning 5,351 yards across both sides of Woodhall Lane in the enchanting West Yorkshire countryside near Pudsey. This course, with a par of 68, offers a thrilling golfing experience for all levels.
The course is incredibly varied as its built on a series of contours giving each hole an almost unique character of their own. Embark on your golfing journey with a challenging front 9 that showcases the adrenaline-pumping hole #5 par 3 known as ‘The Quarry’ where its a full chip over a quarry hole to the green.As you continue to the back 9, the landscape gradually reveals its splendor, guiding you through the idyllic countryside, culminating in your final destination at the 18th green (across the road), conveniently positioned in front of our delightful Clubhouse.
A full golf course renovation in 2020
This golf course has recently had a renovation in 2020 so is well worth a revisit, the back left end of the course has been reworked and the holes have now changed to offer and even greater challenge.
A hole to remember
Hole #15 Par 4 375 yards is a slight dog leg left uphill and is a real tough hole and will challenge even the low handicappers. From the tee box you need to be aiming to land the ball as far right as you can but beyond the 2 trees to the right of the fairway. This will then give you a straight angle and hopefully sight of the green for either a layup or a heroic 130 – 150 yard shot onto the green.
The green is protected on all 3 sides sides by woodland and due to its elevated level and sometimes flag position means that there is a high possibillity that your chip onto the green will be a blind shot, so make sure you know your club distances or you will lose your ball in the woods.

Went with a group of around 20 for lunch and we were well looked after, from arrival to the time we left. Service was... swift and food was excellent. I had Lasagne, and I doubt if an Italian Restaurant could have bettered it. Absolutely superb. Never heard a single complaint from anyone. It almost made me want to take up golf! 😊read more

Had my event here this weekend. Clarissa is a phenomenal events organiser and great at what she does. Communication was... quick and the whole process was simple.When a problem arose, she was there to fix it quickly.Good value on the bar 🍷 🍻 🍹 . Went there for a Wake. The simple buffet consisted of sausage rolls, meat pie pieces, sandwiches, tea and coffee all... served in a spacious, light and airy room with a pleasant outlook. Not elaborate but fit for purpose.read more

Went with friends for afternoon tea, fabulous afternoon food lovely and fresh. Staff were aware that I am allergic to... mushrooms and mayonnaise/salad cream, and my sandwiches were served on a separate plate to the others which contained nothing I was allergic to. Lovely course with a good mixture of short, medium and long holes. Greens are consistent, and in good condition. Most... fairways are wide enough for errant shots, but have enough trees and other hazards to reward straight and thoughtful strokes. Could do with better signage to the next tee, but this is the only complaint. Great price for afternoons, currently £12 for 18 genuine holes (not the same 9 twice). Would definitely recommend.read more

I live nearby, reciently moved. I have tried in numerous ocassions to get to practice in the range. It is shocking that... I hav trie yo contactact them on the phone and emails, even ive gone to yhe remisses to try to speak to someone about openinh times and stuff. The only thing ive sen them doing is to change the automatic answering machine message to update the weather. Thanks so much for that. I would love to see someone picking up the phone or been there forcustomrs. Its seems that litterally no one a ever there, no matter what day in te week ot is. No one will ethere for pur enquires. Booked a 3 ball on golf now. We are new to golf and thought the course looked good for us. Don't be out off by the... reviews. This course is stunning. The views and set up are amazing. Forgiving fairways and the down hill holes and the par 3 over the gulley I wanted to play again. Carded a 101 which is good for me. Friendly members explained on arrival the course starts over the road and final 2 holes near club house. Was quiet and didn't feel rushed. Even though I'm new to golf I've played 20 courses and I wish I lived closer as I'd get a membership here. Can't wait to come back.read more

For the price I really couldn't complain at all. Only slight disappointment was that the bunkers were in a pretty poor... state, although I did notice they seemed to be in the process of adding new sand so fingers crossed.read more

OK, the bunkers are non existent, but if your half decent then surely they shouldn't even come into play? Course -... really well kept, non of that ridiculiyr high rough, greens nice and true and for a high handicapper like me was able to judge run and speed better than ever before! Signature hole is a challenge but that's what you want, go a club less. 19th hole is friendly and the bacon butties are lush...... Defo coming back, great experience for a snip of some other courses!!!read more
